Hornady Varmint Express 12 Gauge #4 Buckshot

Hornady Varmint Express 12 Gauge #4 Buckshot

The Hornady Varmint Express line represents a thoughtful approach to shotgun ammunition design. These 2.75" shells are loaded with 24 #4 buckshot pellets and achieve a muzzle velocity of 1350 feet per second, delivering the power needed for effective varmint hunting.

Versatite Wad Technology

The defining feature of Varmint Express ammunition is Hornady's proprietary Versatite wad system. This innovative design strips cleanly from the pellets in flight without disrupting their trajectory. The result is a uniform, tight shot pattern that performs consistently without requiring gun modifications or specialized chokes.

Key Features

• Tight Patterns: Delivers consistent, dense patterns suitable for Improved Cylinder or Modified chokes
• No Modifications Required: Performs reliably in standard shotguns without aftermarket components
• Reliable Function: Specially loaded to ensure proper cycling in semi-automatic and pump-action shotguns
• Quality Construction: High-quality cases, carefully selected propellants, and precision primers
• Practical Packaging: Convenient 10-round boxes for easy transport and handling

Performance

These shells combine deep penetration with tight shot grouping, making them effective for varmint control at practical hunting distances. The clean wad separation means more of your shot energy reaches the target, not wasted on erratic pellet dispersion.

Hornady's commitment to ammunition quality is evident in every aspect of these loads—from component selection through final quality control.
