Pioneer Arms Hellpup 7.62x39 AK Pistol

Pioneer Arms Hellpup AK Pistol

The Pioneer Arms Hellpup represents a modern take on the classic AK platform, chambered in the proven 7.62x39 cartridge. This is a serious firearm for shooters who appreciate authentic AK engineering combined with practical pistol ergonomics.

Key Features

• Caliber: 7.62x39 (a cartridge with decades of proven performance)
• Barrel Length: 11.7 inches, providing a compact profile without sacrificing velocity
• Construction: Forged trunnion for superior durability and reliability
• Furniture: Original Polish laminated wood, offering both aesthetic appeal and functional grip surfaces
• Magazines: Two 30-round capacity magazines included
• Manufacturer: Pioneer Arms, known for quality AK-pattern firearms

Why This Matters

The forged trunnion is the heart of any AK-pattern rifle or pistol. This critical component bears the stress of firing and cycling. A forged trunnion—rather than a stamped one—provides superior longevity and reliability under sustained use.

The laminated wood furniture is not merely decorative. It provides excellent grip texture, resists moisture better than standard wood, and delivers the authentic feel that many shooters prefer.

Practical Considerations

This pistol configuration makes it ideal for shooters seeking a compact, maneuverable firearm. The 7.62x39 cartridge remains widely available and affordable, making this a practical choice for both training and sport shooting.

Two 30-round magazines provide adequate capacity for extended shooting sessions without constant reloading.
