Sierra MatchKing .270 Cal 135gr Hollow Point Boat Tail
Sierra's legendary MatchKing rifle bullets in .270 caliber deliver match-grade accuracy with 135-grain hollow point boat tail design. Ballistic coefficient of .488 at velocity, exacting tolerances, and 100 rounds per box.
Sierra MatchKing .270 Caliber Rifle Bullets
For generations, shooters have turned to Sierra for one reason: uncompromising accuracy. The MatchKing line represents Sierra's pinnacle of target bullet engineering, designed from the ground up with precision as the sole objective.
Design and Construction
Each MatchKing bullet is manufactured to exacting standards that separate match-grade ammunition from the rest:
- Jacket concentricity: Maximum variation of 0.0003 inches
- Weight tolerance: Plus or minus 0.3 grain
- Hollow point design: Small meplat optimized for ballistic performance
- Boat tail configuration: Minimizes drag and maximizes ballistic coefficient
Ballistic Performance
The 135-grain .277 diameter bullet delivers outstanding ballistic coefficients across the velocity spectrum:
- .488 BC at 2800 fps and above
- .482 BC between 2800 and 2000 fps
- .440 BC between 2000 and 1500 fps
- .390 BC at 1500 fps and below
With a sectional density of .251, these bullets retain energy and resist wind deflection downrange.
Intended Use
MatchKing bullets are purpose-built for target shooting, benchrest competition, and long-range precision work. Due to their design, they are not recommended for hunting applications.
