Design Excellence
The 183-grain MatchKing features a sleek 27-caliber elongated ogive combined with a final meplat reducing operation (pointing) that maximizes ballistic coefficient. This design delivers superior wind resistance and velocity retention downrange.
A unique bearing surface to ogive junction uses the same 1.5-degree angle found in match rifle chamber throats. This ensures precise bullet-to-bore alignment and the consistency match shooters demand.
Important Specifications
Barrel Twist Requirement: This bullet requires a barrel twist rate of 1:8" or faster. Slower twist rates may result in instability and poor accuracy.
Intended Use
These bullets are purpose-built for precision rifle competition and target shooting. While commonly used for varmint hunting, their design does not provide the reliable explosive expansion needed for most hunting applications. For hunting, consider Sierra's specialized hunting bullet lines instead.
Whether you're chasing accuracy records or perfecting your long-range craft, these MatchKing bullets deliver the precision and performance serious shooters expect.
