The bolt carrier group is the heart of your AR-15's operating system. This TacFire unit houses the firing pin, gas key, cam pin, extractor, and bolt—all working in concert to feed, chamber, fire, and extract cartridges with mechanical precision.
How It Works
When you fire, expanding gases are tapped from the barrel and directed into the gas key's cup, creating an inertial force that cycles the bolt carrier rearward into the buffer tube. This gas-operated system minimizes felt recoil and enables rapid, reliable follow-up shots. The carrier then returns forward, stripping a fresh round from the magazine and chambering it for the next shot.
