SOG Gambit XL Fixed Karambit Blade Knife
The Gambit XL is a purpose-built fixed-blade karambit designed for those who demand reliability in utility and defensive applications. This is a serious tool for serious users.
Blade and Construction
The 4-inch blade is forged from CRYO AUS10A steel—a material known for holding an edge while remaining relatively easy to maintain. The black stonewashed finish provides both aesthetic appeal and practical corrosion resistance. The karambit profile, with its distinctive curved design, offers superior cutting geometry and control for both utility tasks and defensive work.
Handle and Grip
The handle is expertly wrapped in paracord, providing an adaptable grip that works across different hand sizes and conditions. The paracord itself serves dual purpose: it improves grip security and can be deployed as cordage in survival situations. At 4.7 ounces and 8.75 inches overall length, the Gambit XL balances substance with portability.
Carry and Deployment
The knife ships with a Kydex sheath featuring SOG's Safe-Lock belt clip—a retention system that keeps your blade secure during movement while allowing quick, reliable access when needed. The sheath design accommodates both right and left-hand carry.
The Bottom Line
Whether you're preparing for backcountry survival, emergency preparedness, or defensive readiness, the Gambit XL delivers the performance and durability SOG is known for.
