Smith & Wesson M&P 10 Volunteer X: Purpose-Built Precision
The Volunteer X represents Smith & Wesson's commitment to delivering a modern rifle platform that arrives ready for serious work. This is not a rifle that requires extensive customization—it ships equipped with quality components selected for reliability and performance.
Core Design
Built on the proven M&P 10 platform, the Volunteer X chambers the .308 Winchester cartridge, a standard that has proven itself across decades of hunting, competition, and professional use. The 16-inch barrel provides a balance between velocity and maneuverability, while the 1:10 twist rate stabilizes a wide range of bullet weights.
Ergonomics and Controls
This rifle prioritizes shooter control:
- Ambidextrous controls including safety selector, bolt release, and magazine release accommodate both left and right-handed shooters
- Radian Raptor-LT charging handle with ambi design reduces fumbling during transitions
- B5 Systems P-Grip 23 provides a comfortable, secure grip angle
- Flat-faced trigger delivers predictable break without creep
- B5 Systems SOPMOD stock offers adjustable length of pull and cheek rest
Accessory-Ready Platform
The BCMGunfighter forend features M-LOK slots for mounting lights, lasers, or other tactical accessories. Magpul Type-2 M-LOK rail covers are included to protect unused slots and provide grip texture.
Sighting Solutions
Williams Gun Sight Company folding sights front and rear provide a backup sighting system. These fold away when optics are mounted, ensuring a clean sight picture.
Durability
The 4140 steel barrel features Armornite finish inside and out—a hard-anodized coating that resists corrosion and wear. The forged integral trigger guard and chromed firing pin reflect attention to longevity. The PWS 762 muzzle brake manages recoil while providing directional feedback.
