Smith & Wesson M642 .38 Special Revolver Robin's Egg Blue

Smith & Wesson M642: Compact Reliability in Robin's Egg Blue

The M642 represents a refined approach to personal protection in a package small enough to carry anywhere. This is a purpose-built defensive revolver that doesn't compromise on the fundamentals.

Design and Construction

Smith & Wesson engineered the M642 around a lightweight aluminum alloy frame paired with stainless steel barrel and cylinder. The result is a revolver that weighs just 14.6 ounces—light enough for all-day carry without fatigue, yet substantial enough to manage recoil effectively.

The distinctive Robin's Egg Blue Cerakote finish on the barrel and frame provides both aesthetic appeal and practical corrosion resistance. The matte-finished cylinder complements the overall design while maintaining the professional appearance expected of a serious defensive tool.

Practical Features for Carry

Internal Hammer Design: The concealed hammer eliminates snags on clothing or holster during the draw—a critical feature when seconds matter.

Double-Action Only: Every trigger pull is consistent and predictable, with no single-action capability to complicate your presentation under stress.

Integral Sights: Fixed front and rear sights are built into the design, eliminating protrusions and keeping the profile compact.

5-Round Capacity: Chambered in .38 Special, the five-round cylinder provides adequate firepower for defensive scenarios while maintaining the compact footprint.
