The Ruger American Generation II represents a significant evolution in modern rifle design, combining precision engineering with practical features that appeal to both experienced shooters and those new to the platform.
Barrel and Accuracy
The 12.5" bull contour barrel is cold hammer-forged, a process that ensures ultra-precise rifling and exceptional accuracy. The threaded muzzle accepts standard suppressors and muzzle devices, arriving with a factory-installed thread protector. The increased weight of the bull contour barrel provides superior stability and noticeably reduces felt recoil—a benefit that compounds when using heavier muzzle devices.
The Power Bedding integral bedding block system positively locates the receiver while free-floating the barrel, a combination that delivers outstanding accuracy potential.
Trigger and Controls
The Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger offers a crisp, predictable release with pull weight adjustable between 3 and 5 pounds, allowing you to dial in the exact feel you prefer. The three-position tang safety locks the bolt, preventing inadvertent opening while allowing the rifle to be loaded with the safety engaged.
The oversized bolt handle facilitates positive manipulation, and the CNC-machined stainless steel one-piece bolt features the familiar three-lug design with a 70° throw for excellent scope clearance.
Stock and Ergonomics
The black splatter-finished stock provides excellent grip without sharp edges. The soft rubber recoil pad features a large radius on the heel for comfortable shouldering and progressive collapse that reduces felt recoil. Length of pull adjusts from 13.75" to 12" by removing the installed spacer.
The installed low comb improves sight alignment with magnified optics and can be removed for low-mounted sights. Additional comb options are available to further refine fit and comfort.
Finish and Durability
Professionally applied Cerakote coating on the barrel, thread protector, receiver, and bolt handle ensures a durable, easy-to-maintain finish that resists corrosion and wear.
