Retay Gordion Turkey 20ga Semi-Auto Shotgun

Retay Gordion Turkey Shotgun: Purpose-Built for the Serious Hunter

The Retay Gordion represents a thoughtful approach to turkey hunting—a semi-automatic 20-gauge that combines proven engineering with practical features designed for the field.

Action and Reliability

This shotgun employs an Inertia-Plus rotating bolt system that delivers full lock-up without the rattle or wear associated with looser designs. The action cycles reliably across a range of loads, from light target rounds to heavy turkey loads. The 3-inch chamber accommodates modern turkey ammunition, while the factory-lengthened forcing cone—extended 20 percent beyond standard—delivers denser patterns and more pellets on target where it counts.

Barrel and Accuracy

The 22-inch barrel features a dead-straight deep bore drilled for strength and accuracy. This length strikes a practical balance: short enough for brush hunting, long enough to deliver patterns at typical turkey distances. Five interchangeable chokes (C, IC, M, IM, F) allow you to fine-tune your pattern for different scenarios and ammunition.

Sighting and Ergonomics

A TruGlo fiber optic front sight provides a bright, fast sight picture in low-light conditions typical of early morning hunts. An integrated cantilevered Picatinny rail allows mounting of optics or additional accessories. The standard safety is positioned for quick access, and the premium aluminum trigger and guard are designed for reliability without unnecessary weight.

Construction

The 7075 aerospace-grade aluminum receiver eliminates plastic components, ensuring durability and longevity. At 7 pounds 6 ounces, the gun handles naturally in the field without fatigue. The Mossy Oak Original Bottomland finish blends effectively in varied terrain.

Practical Features

The Easy Out magazine system allows you to unload spent shells without cycling the action—a genuine convenience in the field. A 4-round capacity provides adequate firepower for turkey hunting while keeping the gun trim and manageable.

The Bottom Line

The Retay Gordion is a no-nonsense turkey gun built on sound principles. It delivers the features serious hunters expect: reliable action, dense patterns, and practical ergonomics—all at a price point that won't break the bank.
