Rock Island Ultra Compact .45 ACP 1911
The Rock Island Ultra Compact represents a modern interpretation of the classic 1911 platform, scaled down for shooters who demand serious stopping power in a truly portable package. This is a purpose-built defensive handgun that doesn't compromise on the fundamentals.
Design & Construction
Built on traditional 1911 architecture, the Ultra Compact features a full-length guide rod that ensures reliable cycling and longevity. The 3.5-inch button-rifled barrel is precisely engineered for accuracy at defensive distances. The slide and frame are constructed from steel, providing the weight and durability serious shooters expect from a .45 ACP platform.
Ergonomics & Controls
The snag-free angled design facilitates quick, smooth draws when seconds count. You'll find:
- Ambidextrous safety for either-handed operation
- Skeletonized hammer and trigger that reduce weight and improve handling
- Adjustable over-travel stop for a crisp, predictable trigger break
- G10 tactical grips that provide positive control in all conditions
Sights & Accuracy
The fiber optic front sight cuts through low-light conditions, while the LPA MPS1 adjustable rear sight allows you to dial in your zero. This sight combination gives you both speed and precision.
Finish & Reliability
The tough parkerized matte finish resists corrosion and won't reflect light. The factory trigger breaks at 4 to 6 pounds—crisp and predictable right out of the box.
