Design and Performance

This is a field-grade shotgun designed for hunters who value dependability over frills. The 28-inch barrel provides a good balance between handling and sight radius, making it suitable for both upland game and clay shooting. The 3-inch chamber accepts standard and magnum loads, giving you flexibility in ammunition selection.

The True Timber Prairie camouflage pattern blends effectively in grassland and prairie environments, making it a practical choice for hunters working open country.

Practical Considerations

As a pump-action shotgun, the 601 Field requires manual operation between shots—a design that has proven reliable for over a century. This straightforward mechanism means fewer moving parts to maintain and a firearm that functions consistently in the field.

Whether you're pursuing upland birds or working clay targets, this shotgun delivers honest performance at a reasonable price point.
