The Glock 17 Gen 6: Evolution of a Classic
Glock has refined its legendary Model 17 platform with the Gen 6, introducing meaningful improvements that enhance both performance and shootability without abandoning the simplicity that made Glock famous.
Key Improvements
The Gen 6 represents thoughtful evolution:
- RTF6 Grip Texture: A dual-texture grip surface that balances control and comfort, providing positive purchase without excessive abrasiveness
- Palm Swell: Contoured to the natural curvature of the hand, promoting a higher, more secure grip
- Enlarged Beavertail: Encourages proper hand placement while allowing unrestricted slide cycling
- Extended Thumb Rest: Textured and positioned for enhanced recoil control and positive indexing
- Undercut Trigger Guard: Allows a higher grip position for improved control and comfort
- Flat-Faced Trigger: Delivers consistent finger placement and predictable trigger press
Performance Features
Ported Barrel and Slide: The ported design reduces muzzle rise and recoil impulse, helping you stay on target for faster follow-up shots.
Optic Ready: Pre-cut for direct mounting of modern red dot sights, with three optic plates included to accommodate various mounting systems.
Enhanced Serrations: Deeper, angled slide serrations provide superior grip for reliable slide manipulations in any condition.
Enlarged Slide Stop Lever Border: Prevents unintentional activation while maintaining positive engagement when needed.
Safe Action System
The Safe Action mechanism remains unchanged—three independent safeties that function automatically with every trigger press, providing uncompromising reliability and safety.
