Remington 783 Compact 7mm-08 Rifle 20" Barrel

Remington 783 Compact: Purpose-Built Accuracy in a Manageable Package

The Remington 783 Compact represents a thoughtful approach to rifle design for shooters who value both performance and practicality. This 7mm-08 Remington delivers genuine hunting capability in a package that doesn't demand excessive length or weight.

Design and Construction

The foundation of the 783 is its pillar-bedded synthetic stock—a design choice that matters. The dual pillar bedding system free-floats the barrel, eliminating the inconsistencies that come from wood movement or uneven pressure points. The high-nylon-fiber synthetic material provides the strength and rigidity necessary for shot-to-shot consistency without the maintenance demands of traditional wood stocks.

Trigger and Controls

The adjustable CrossFire trigger system puts control in your hands. User-adjustable to your preference, it delivers the crisp break that separates good shooting from mediocre shooting. The detachable steel magazine holds four rounds in this caliber—a practical capacity for most hunting situations—and features a steel latch designed for reliable feeding and retention.

Practical Features

• Scope mounts included — ready to mount your optic immediately
• Compatible with Model 700 front scope bases — flexibility if you upgrade
• Sling mounts — properly positioned for field carry
• Supercell recoil pad — manages the 7mm-08's modest recoil effectively
