The Mossberg 500 Turkey: A Proven Performer
The Mossberg 500 has earned its reputation as one of America's most reliable pump-action shotguns. This Turkey model carries that legacy forward with features specifically engineered for the demanding work of turkey hunting.
Design and Handling
The 20-gauge chambering delivers effective patterns while managing recoil—a practical choice for hunters who value both performance and comfort. The 20-inch ventilated rib barrel keeps the gun nimble in thick cover, and the overall length of 40.25 inches makes it easy to maneuver through brush and around trees.
Optics Integration
This model arrives optic-ready with receiver cuts that accept low-profile Holosun micro dot sights. The direct-mount design improves eye alignment and speeds target acquisition when seconds matter. The included Holosun HS407K red dot provides a modern aiming solution without the bulk of traditional scope mounts.
Sighting System
Adjustable fiber optic front and rear sights provide a backup aiming system and work well in low-light conditions common to early morning turkey hunts.
Capacity and Reliability
The 5+1 capacity (five rounds in the magazine plus one in the chamber) gives you sufficient firepower for the task. The ambidextrous thumb safety ensures safe handling regardless of your shooting hand.
Finish and Furniture
Mossy Oak Greenleaf camouflage covers the synthetic stock and receiver, breaking up your outline in spring vegetation. The vented recoil pad manages the push of turkey loads while protecting your shoulder.
Choke System
The X-Factor Extended Turkey choke tube delivers the tight, consistent patterns turkeys demand. The multi-choke design allows you to swap tubes for different hunting situations.
Practical Features
Sling swivel studs come installed, allowing you to carry the gun comfortably during long walks to your setup. At 7 pounds, the Mossberg 500 Turkey balances firepower with portability.
This is a shotgun built by hunters, for hunters—straightforward, effective, and ready to work.
