Charles Daly 101 Compact Over-Under Shotgun
The Charles Daly 101 Compact represents a thoughtful approach to shotgun design—one that recognizes not all shooters require full-sized platforms. This 20-gauge over-under delivers genuine utility in a trim, manageable package.
Key Features
- Gauge & Capacity: 20-gauge with 3-inch chambers for versatile ammunition options
- Barrel Length: 26-inch barrels optimized for improved cylinder and modified chokes
- Finish: Flat Dark Earth receiver with True Timber Prairie camouflage on barrels and furniture
- Action: Traditional over-under design with proven reliability
- Handling: Compact dimensions reduce weight and improve maneuverability in brush and timber
Purpose & Performance
This shotgun excels in upland bird hunting where quick target acquisition matters. The 20-gauge recoil profile suits younger shooters and those sensitive to recoil, while delivering sufficient pattern density for pheasant, quail, and similar game. The compact frame also performs admirably in clay target sports, particularly in tighter shooting positions.
Practical Considerations
The balanced weight distribution and shorter sight plane encourage proper shooting form. The camouflage finish minimizes glint in field conditions while the Flat Dark Earth receiver provides a professional appearance. This is a working shotgun built for hunters and sport shooters who value efficiency over ostentation.
Features
- break action single shot cocks on action closing (hammer enclosed)
- threaded for choke tubes
- cerakote barrel and action with synthetic stock
- folds at hinge pin for storage
- picatinny rail for optics mount
