Rocky Mountain Reaper Diaphragm Call
The Reaper is a specialized diaphragm call engineered for serious elk hunters who understand the power of aggressive vocalizations during the rut.
Design and Construction
Built on a proven Golden Tone Plate frame, this call delivers the tonal qualities needed to produce convincing elk sounds with minimal effort. The diaphragm design allows for hands-free operation once positioned in your mouth, freeing your hands for your bow or rifle.
Sound Capabilities
Aggressive Bugles — The Reaper excels at producing the challenging bugles of a frustrated bull elk. These sounds communicate dominance and territorial aggression, often triggering response bugles from competing bulls.
Cow Estrus Whines — Switch your technique to reproduce the high-pitched whines of a cow in heat. This sound is particularly effective during peak rut periods when bulls are actively seeking receptive females.
Practical Application
This call works best when you understand basic elk vocalizations and can vary your calling intensity. Start with aggressive challenges to locate bulls, then transition to cow sounds to bring them closer. The versatility of the Reaper makes it a valuable tool for both spot-and-stalk and stand hunting strategies.
Who Should Consider It
Experienced elk hunters will appreciate the Reaper's ability to produce authentic, aggressive sounds. Newcomers to elk hunting should practice with this call before heading afield to develop consistent technique.
