The Barrett Model 99: Precision Engineered for Long-Range Excellence
The Model 99 represents Barrett's commitment to uncompromising accuracy and reliability. This single-shot bolt-action rifle is purpose-built for shooters who demand the absolute best in long-range precision.
Design Philosophy
Barrett's design philosophy is elegantly simple: eliminate unnecessary complexity. The Model 99 achieves this through brilliant engineering rather than compromise. With remarkably few moving parts, the rifle is inherently reliable and straightforward to maintain—a quality that separates professional tools from consumer products.
Mechanical Excellence
The Bolt: Machined from a single piece of S-7 tool steel, the bolt is the foundation of the rifle's strength and reliability. Fifteen precisely machined lugs lock into the barrel extension, creating a lock-up of exceptional rigidity. This design ensures consistent accuracy shot after shot.
The Barrel: The 32-inch heavy barrel is optimized for the .416 Barrett cartridge with a 1:12 twist rate. This combination delivers the velocity and stability necessary for extreme-range precision work.
