Design and Construction
Springfield Armory has shortened the action by 1/8 inch compared to a standard 1911, creating a more compact platform without sacrificing the inherent reliability of the design. The forged stainless steel slide features a satin finish and is paired with a forged aluminum alloy frame finished in black hardcoat anodize. This combination delivers durability while keeping overall weight to a practical 27 ounces.
Ergonomics and Handling
The 1.12-inch thinline grip with Cross Cannon Double Diamond cocobolo panels produces a remarkably comfortable shooting experience. The reduced grip radius—a direct result of the shortened frame—allows for better control and faster target reacquisition. The ambidextrous thumb safety ensures accessibility for both right and left-handed shooters.
Sights and Accuracy
