Sierra GameKing 7mm 175gr Spitzer Boat Tail #1940

Sierra GameKing 175-Grain 7mm Hunting Bullet

The Sierra GameKing #1940 represents a significant advancement in long-range hunting ammunition. These 175-grain bullets combine the ballistic efficiency of match-grade design with the stopping power demanded by serious hunters.

Design and Construction

Boat Tail Configuration: The streamlined tapered base reduces aerodynamic drag, resulting in superior velocity retention downrange. This translates directly to a flatter trajectory and measurably less wind drift—critical advantages when hunting at extended distances.

Heavy Double-Tapered Jacket: Sierra's proven jacket design ensures controlled expansion while maintaining deep penetration through heavy bone and muscle.

Special Alloy Core: The hardened core works in concert with the jacket to deliver consistent, devastating performance on North American big game and African plains game alike.

Performance Characteristics

• Match-grade accuracy approaching that of Sierra's renowned MatchKing bullets
• Exceptional ballistic coefficient for long-range stability
• Proven in 7mm Magnum cartridges and 7mm-08 Remington applications
• Suitable for centerfire rifle silhouette competition
• Low sensitivity to crosswind deflection

Applications

These bullets excel in rifles chambered for 7mm Magnum cartridges and serve as an excellent choice for the 7mm-08 Remington in single-shot handguns. They are also competitive in silhouette matches and long-range target shooting where precision and momentum are paramount.

Note: Due to their 175-grain weight, these bullets may exceed the optimal loading range for smaller-capacity 7mm cartridges.
