Sierra Tipped MatchKing .308 155 Grain Bullets

Sierra has elevated their renowned MatchKing line by adding an acetal resin tip to create the Tipped MatchKing (TMK) bullet. This enhancement reduces aerodynamic drag and produces a more favorable ballistic coefficient, delivering superior downrange performance.

Design and Application

The 155-grain .30 caliber Tipped MatchKing was engineered as a flat-based bullet for the .300 AAC Blackout cartridge and the AR platform, while remaining versatile for bolt-action rifles. The acetal resin tip improves ballistic performance across a range of velocities, making this bullet suitable for both AR and traditional bolt-action .30 caliber chamberings.

Important Notes

Sierra's MatchKing and Tipped MatchKing bullets are recognized worldwide for record-setting accuracy. However, they are not recommended for most hunting applications. While commonly used for varmint hunting, their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities compared to Sierra's lightly jacketed Hornet Blitz or Varminter bullets.
