Double Tap 44 Rem Mag 240gr Hardcast Solid
Double Tap's 240-grain hardcast solid ammunition delivers genuine .44 Magnum power at 1455 fps, ideal for hunting and defense against large game.
A Serious .44 Magnum Hunting Load
Double Tap's 240-grain hardcast solid ammunition represents the kind of straightforward, effective ammunition that serious hunters and defensive shooters have relied upon for decades. This is genuine .44 Magnum power—not a compromised loading designed to function in marginal firearms.
Ballistics and Performance
- Velocity: 1455 fps from a 7.5" barrel
- Energy: 1129 ft./lbs.
- Bullet: 240-grain semi-wadcutter hardcast solid
- Pressure: Standard .44 Magnum pressure
- Overall Length: 1.56"
The hardcast construction ensures deep, reliable penetration through heavy bone and muscle—essential characteristics when hunting elk or defending against dangerous game. Velocity testing from common handgun platforms shows consistent performance: 1380 fps from a 6" Colt Anaconda, 1215 fps from a 2.5" Ruger Alaskan.
Practical Considerations
This ammunition functions reliably in any .44 Magnum revolver in good mechanical condition. The compact 1.56" overall length ensures reliable feeding and chambering across the full spectrum of .44 Magnum firearms, from short-barreled defensive revolvers to full-length hunting platforms.
