Leupold Standard 2-Piece Base for Cooper 22/16/23

Leupold Standard Steel Mounting System

The Leupold Standard (STD) 2-piece base represents one of the most versatile scope mounting solutions available for modern sporting rifles. This particular configuration is engineered specifically for Cooper 22/16/23 actions and delivers the precision and reliability Leupold is known for.

Design and Functionality

Dual-Ring Configuration: The two-piece design separates front and rear rings, allowing independent adjustment and easier installation. The front dovetail ring pivots to accommodate lateral adjustment through the rear windage screws—a feature that simplifies bore-sighting and initial scope alignment.

Windage Control: The rear ring features precision windage adjustment screws that allow you to fine-tune your scope's horizontal alignment without touching the scope's internal adjustments. This preserves your scope's elevation turret for bullet drop compensation dialing—a critical advantage for long-range shooting.

Elevation and Shimming

The system accommodates shims for gross elevation adjustment, letting you establish proper scope cant and zero without consuming your scope's elevation adjustment range. This design philosophy keeps your scope's internal adjustments available for what they do best: precise sight-in and distance compensation.

Versatility and Compatibility

Leupold Standard rings are available in five different heights to match your specific rifle and scope combination. The precision engineering ensures compatibility with Standard 1-piece or 2-piece bases across the Leupold lineup.

Ideal Applications

This mounting system is the standard choice for rifles chambered in calibers less than .300 Winchester Magnum, making it perfect for most hunting and target shooting applications with Cooper rifles.
