Browning BL-22 Micro Midas .22 Lever-Action Rifle

The Browning BL-22 Micro Midas: Lever-Action Excellence in a Compact Package

The Browning BL-22 Micro Midas represents a thoughtful approach to rifle design—building a quality lever-action .22 specifically engineered for shooters of smaller stature, younger hunters, and anyone who appreciates a handy, well-balanced firearm.

Design and Handling

This is a rifle built on Browning's proven BL-22 platform, but with purposeful modifications for compact shooters. The 16.25" barrel reduces overall weight while maintaining the accuracy and reliability the BL-22 is known for. The 12" length of pull accommodates smaller frames comfortably, making this an excellent choice for youth shooters transitioning to centerfire rifles or experienced hunters who prefer a nimble .22.

Action and Controls

The lever-action features a short 33-degree throw, allowing faster cycling than full-size lever guns. This quick manipulation is particularly valuable in the field. The trigger is mechanically linked to the lever, helping prevent accidental finger pinch—a thoughtful safety detail. The action cycles smoothly and reliably, whether you're plinking or hunting small game.

Magazine and Ammunition Compatibility

The tubular magazine holds any combination of .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 Long Rifle ammunition. This flexibility means you can load whatever ammunition suits your purpose without worrying about magazine compatibility. The magazine tube locks securely when seated, ensuring reliable feeding.

Construction and Finish

Receiver: Machined from solid steel with a polished blue finish and grooved for scope mounts, allowing easy addition of optics.

Barrel: Blued steel with a recessed crown for protection and accuracy.

Stock: American walnut with a gloss finish and straight grip. The compact dimensions and shorter length of pull make this rifle feel proportionate in smaller hands.

Sights and Optics

The rifle comes equipped with adjustable sights for quick target acquisition. The grooved receiver accepts standard .22 scope rings if you prefer optical aiming.

The Bottom Line

The Browning BL-22 Micro Midas is a quality .22 lever-action that doesn't compromise on features or build quality. Whether introducing a young shooter to hunting, training for precision, or simply enjoying time in the field, this rifle delivers the reliability and accuracy Browning is known for in a size that actually fits smaller shooters.
