Haydel's W81 Wood Duck Squealer
The W81 Wood Duck Squealer is purpose-built for hunters pursuing one of North America's most beautiful waterfowl. This open-design call reproduces the distinctive squealing vocalizations of wood ducks as they prepare to roost, making it an essential tool for evening hunting sessions.
Key Features
- Authentic Sound Production: Generates the characteristic squealing calls of wood ducks coming to roost
- Open Call Design: Simple, effective construction that requires minimal practice to master
- Durable Construction: Clear plastic body withstands field conditions and repeated use
- Proven Effectiveness: Haydel's reputation for quality game calls backs this design
Performance
Wood ducks respond readily to their own vocalizations, particularly during roosting hours. The W81's squealing tones mimic these natural sounds, drawing birds into range when traditional mallard calls fall short. The open design allows for easy tone adjustment based on your calling technique.
Ideal For
Hunters targeting wood ducks in timber, swamps, and wooded waterways where these birds naturally congregate. Works best during evening hours when wood ducks are actively seeking roost sites.
