Springfield Armory M1A Precision: American Rifle Excellence
The M1A Precision represents Springfield Armory's commitment to delivering a rifle that honors the legendary M1A tradition while incorporating modern precision features. This is a serious tool for the dedicated marksman.
Barrel and Accuracy
The heart of any rifle is its barrel, and Springfield equipped this M1A with a 22" medium-weight National Match carbon steel barrel. Premium air-gauged for consistency, this barrel delivers the accuracy competitive shooters demand. The 1:11" right-hand twist with six grooves stabilizes 308 Winchester ammunition across a wide velocity range.
Sights and Controls
This rifle ships with match-grade iron sights: a National Match .062" blade front sight and a match-grade aperture rear sight with 1/2 MOA windage and 1 MOA elevation adjustments. The two-stage trigger breaks at 4.5 to 5 pounds—tuned for precision work.
The Archangel Precision Stock
The defining feature is the Archangel Precision adjustable stock, which transforms the M1A into a modern precision platform:
- Thumbwheel adjustability in two axes for perfect cheek weld and eye relief
- Adjustable length of pull (45" to 46.25" overall) accommodates shooters of different builds
- Spare parts compartment for field maintenance
- Sling sockets for tactical or hunting applications
Capacity and Handling
The 10-round magazine capacity balances firepower with practical field use. Overall length ranges from 45" to 46.25" depending on stock adjustment.
