Design and Construction
The 1873 pattern remains the gold standard for single action revolvers, and Traditions has captured its essence with meticulous attention to detail. The color-case hardened frame provides both visual appeal and functional durability. Steel construction throughout ensures the revolver will handle serious use.
The transfer bar safety system is a critical modern addition to this classic design. It allows you to safely carry the revolver with all six chambers loaded—a feature the original 1873 lacked. This mechanism prevents accidental discharge from impact or trigger snag.
Performance and Reliability
The 45 Colt cartridge delivers substantial power in a proven package. Whether you're interested in Cowboy Action Shooting, hunting, or simply enjoying a piece of firearms history, the 1873 Liberty performs with the dependability you expect from a quality revolver.
This is a revolver built to shoot, not merely to display.
