Woodhaven WH122 Mini Red Scorpion Turkey Call
The Red Scorpion represents a thoughtfully engineered approach to turkey calling. This diaphragm call combines three distinct latex reeds—red, clear, and black—each selected for its acoustic properties.
Design and Construction
Reed Configuration:
- Red latex top reed provides characteristic rasp and edge
- Clear latex middle reed adds tonal clarity
- Black latex bottom reed contributes mellowness and depth
The Scorpion Cut: The distinctive Scorpion cut geometry balances the aggressive rasp of a V-cut with the refined mellowness achieved by removing side wing material. This creates a harmonious middle ground—neither too harsh nor too soft.
Performance Characteristics
The three-reed design allows you to produce a range of turkey vocalizations with natural-sounding results. The balanced cut design makes this call responsive to subtle changes in air pressure and tongue position, giving you control over tone and volume.
Ideal For
Whether you're a seasoned turkey hunter refining your calling technique or newer to the sport, the Red Scorpion's versatile design rewards practice and experimentation. The call's compact size makes it easy to carry and deploy in the field.
