The Ruger American Rifle Generation II stock comes equipped with an adjustable comb system designed to position your eye precisely behind your optics. This comb riser kit provides the additional height options needed to achieve perfect cheek weld and sight alignment.
What's Included
This kit contains two interchangeable comb risers:
- 5/8" riser — intermediate height adjustment
- 3/4" riser — maximum height adjustment
Your rifle ships with the LOW comb (1/2" height) installed, suitable for most shooters using mid-power magnified optics. The additional risers in this kit allow you to dial in the exact comb height for your specific setup and shooting style.
Easy Installation
Comb changes require minimal tools and effort:
- Loosen the recoil pad assembly
- Slide the current comb off the stock
- Install your preferred riser
- Secure the recoil pad
A 1/8" hex wrench is needed to loosen the rear swivel stud if necessary during the swap.
Why It Matters
Proper comb height is fundamental to consistent shooting. When your cheek rests naturally on the comb, your eye aligns directly behind your optic without requiring awkward head positioning. This reduces fatigue, improves accuracy, and makes shooting more enjoyable whether you're at the range or in the field.
