Springfield Armory has refined the classic 1911 platform with the TRP Compact, a purpose-built defensive handgun that honors tradition while embracing modern refinements.

Design and Ergonomics

The slim profile of the 1911 TRP is complemented by a lightweight Carry Contour aluminum frame and a 4.25" match-grade barrel. The bobbed frame reduces printing while maintaining a comfortable, full-hand grip. This balance between concealability and shootability makes the TRP an excellent choice for both duty and personal defense.

Control and Grip

20 line-per-inch checkering on the frame and mainspring housing provides a firm, secure grip without being abrasive against skin or clothing. The ambidextrous thumb safety accommodates both right and left-handed shooters. VZ Hydra series grips feature aggressive texturing that delivers solid purchase under stress.

Sights and Sight Picture

The TRP features tritium night sights with a single vial in the front sight and two vials in the rear sight. Serrated rear sight design reduces glare and accelerates target acquisition in low-light conditions. Top slide serrations further reduce glare and speed sight alignment.

Mechanical Advantages

A skeletonized hammer reduces weight and lock time for a crisper trigger response. The hammer-forged stainless steel barrel is match-grade quality, ensuring reliable accuracy shot after shot.
