The Lonesome Cow Call: Reach Out and Touch Elk
The Carlton's Calls Lonesome Cow Call represents a straightforward approach to elk hunting—sometimes the simplest tools deliver the most impressive results.
Design and Performance
This call features a purposefully enlarged body that accomplishes two critical objectives:
- Increased Volume: The larger chamber produces more sound output, allowing your calls to carry significantly farther across varied terrain
- Higher Pitch: The design generates a commanding tone that cuts through wind and natural background noise, capturing the attention of distant bulls
Practical Operation
There is no learning curve here. The call operates on a basic principle: bite, blow, and execute. No complex techniques or specialized skills required. Whether you're a seasoned elk hunter or new to the sport, you'll produce effective cow sounds immediately.
Why It Works
Big bulls respond to cows in estrus. This call mimics that sound with enough volume and clarity to be heard from considerable distances. When a bull hears it, he knows exactly where to find a potential mate—and that's when your hunting opportunity begins.
Simplicity, range, and effectiveness. That's the Lonesome Cow Call.
