Kershaw Dawnstar 1423 Tactical Folding Knife

Kershaw Dawnstar: Tactical Folder for Everyday Excellence

The Dawnstar represents thoughtful design meeting practical functionality. This tactical folder combines an unconventional hawkbill blade with ergonomic engineering to handle the cutting tasks you encounter daily.

Blade Design and Performance

The 3.5" hawkbill blade cuts with authority. Its distinctive downward angle excels at:

• Box and package opening — the curved geometry provides superior control
• Rope and cordage — efficient slicing without slipping
• Push cuts — enhanced by a false edge near the blade's top

The 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade receives a blackwash finish that resists corrosion while maintaining a tactical appearance.

Handle and Carry

The glass-filled nylon handle is textured for secure grip in various conditions. Assisted opening with a flipper mechanism ensures quick deployment when you need it. A circular sharpening choil provides a dedicated area for touch-ups in the field.

Weight-relieving pockets inside the handle reduce carry fatigue—important when this knife lives in your pocket daily. The reversible deep-carry pocket clip accommodates both right and left-hand carry, with positioning that keeps the blade concealed.
