Ruger Hawkeye Hunter: Built for Serious Hunters
The Hawkeye Hunter represents Ruger's commitment to delivering a rifle that performs when it matters most. This is a purpose-built hunting rifle that combines proven mechanical systems with modern refinements.
Mechanical Excellence
Extraction and Ejection The non-rotating Mauser-type controlled round feed extractor is one of the most positive case extraction systems ever developed. A fixed blade-type ejector positively ejects empty cases as the bolt moves fully rearward, ensuring reliable operation in all conditions.
Trigger Performance The LC6 trigger delivers smooth, crisp performance right out of the box. No gunsmith visit required—you get accuracy-enhancing trigger control from day one.
Safety A three-position safety allows you to lock the bolt or load and unload with the safety engaged. It's positioned for easy access without fumbling.
Accuracy Features
- Free-floated barrel ensures the barrel doesn't contact the stock, eliminating a major source of accuracy variation
- Cold hammer-forged rifling provides ultra-precise bore dimensions for exceptional accuracy and barrel longevity
- Integral scope mounts machined directly into the solid-steel receiver eliminate loose mounting surfaces that plague field rifles
- Included scope rings mount directly to these integral bases
Practical Design
The American walnut stock features rounded contours for comfortable handling and wrap-around checkering on the grip and forend. The hinged solid-steel floorplate allows easy unloading without cycling each cartridge through the chamber.
