The Ruger Harrier represents a thoughtful approach to the modern sporting rifle—one that balances proven design principles with contemporary ergonomics and accessory compatibility.

Receiver and Construction

Both upper and lower receivers are machined from 7075 aluminum forgings and finished with Type III hard coat anodizing, ensuring durability and corrosion resistance. The lower receiver includes a tension screw that eliminates play between upper and lower components, maintaining zero integrity and reliable function. The upper receiver features a forward assist and brass deflector for confident operation in any environment.

Barrel and Gas System

The 16.1" government profile barrel is nitrided for enhanced wear resistance and features 6-groove rifling with a 1:8" twist rate—a versatile pitch suitable for a wide range of ammunition weights. The barrel is threaded 1/2"-28 and ships with an A2 flash hider, which can be removed to accommodate other muzzle devices of your choice.

Ergonomics and Handling

The Magpul MOE-K2 grip provides a comfortable, secure purchase, while the DT Carbine collapsible buttstock on a mil-spec buffer tube allows you to dial in length of pull for your body type and shooting style. The free-float handguard features a slim profile that enhances ergonomics without sacrificing strength, and it includes a full-length Picatinny rail on top for optics mounting. QD sling sockets on both sides provide flexibility for your preferred carry method.

Accessory Compatibility

M-LOK attachment slots are positioned at the 3:00, 6:00, and 9:00 positions, with eight additional intermediate slots near the muzzle end. This arrangement gives you ample real estate for lights, vertical grips, and other tactical accessories.

Reliability and Function

The Harrier ships with mil-spec components throughout: a single-stage GI trigger, selector, charging handle, carbine buffer, and spring. The nitrided bolt carrier group features a staked gas key for assured reliability. One 30-round Magpul PMAG magazine is included.
