Area 419 ZERO Press Gen 2 with 7/8 Turret Head

The Area 419 ZERO Press Gen 2: A Generational Leap in Reloading Excellence

When Area 419 released the original ZERO in 2020, it fundamentally changed what shooters expected from a premium reloading press. Now, after thousands of presses in the hands of reloaders worldwide, the company has refined its flagship tool with the ZERO Gen 2—a thoughtful generational update that builds on proven success while addressing real-world user feedback.

Key Improvements Over Generation 1

Firmer Linkage for Greater Control The Gen 1 was engineered around seating the shellholder at the bottom of the die—still the preferred method for precision brass sizing. However, many reloaders requested a firmer bottom-of-stroke feel to allow cam-over and floating the shellholder below the die. The Gen 2 delivers exactly that, giving you more control and flexibility at the bench.

Smoother Stroke from First Use The original ZERO earned its reputation as the smoothest press on the market. Through thousands of units produced, Area 419 identified subtle refinements that make each stroke even smoother—improvements you'll notice immediately, whether you're a new owner or a longtime ZERO devotee.

Thoughtful Ergonomic Details Small touches make a big difference during long reloading sessions. The Gen 2 adds a detent to the primer tray and a torque tool storage slot on the press body, reflecting Area 419's ongoing commitment to bench comfort and efficiency.

Full Backward Compatibility Area 419 respected its existing customer base by maintaining compatibility with Gen 1 accessories. Your press stands, storage trays, shellholders, turrets, and other ZERO components work seamlessly with the Gen 2—though you may need to verify die adjustment due to the linkage refinement.
