The Crickett: America's First Rifle
For generations, the Keystone Sporting Arms Crickett has introduced young shooters to the fundamentals of marksmanship. This is a rifle purpose-built for developing proper shooting technique and building confidence.
Design and Safety
The Crickett is a manually cocking, single-shot bolt action rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle. Its most important feature is the rebounding firing pin safety—a mechanical system that automatically blocks the firing pin, preventing accidental discharge even if the trigger is pulled when the bolt is open. This design philosophy puts safety first, every time.
Ergonomics for Young Shooters
Length of Pull: 11.5 inches—sized specifically for youth and compact frames
Trigger Pull: 2.5 to 3 pounds—light enough for precise control, heavy enough to prevent accidental firing
Overall Length: 30.5 inches—manageable and easy to handle
Weight: Approximately 3 pounds—minimal recoil and fatigue
Sights and Accuracy
The Crickett comes equipped with a fixed front sight and an adjustable rear peep sight for precise aiming. The rifle is drilled and tapped to accept Crickett scope mounts, allowing you to upgrade to optics as the shooter's skills develop.
Construction
The blued barrel and receiver are paired with a durable desert tan synthetic stock. The synthetic material resists weather and rough handling—ideal for young shooters learning in the field. Sling swivel studs are included for carrying comfort.
The Right Choice
The Crickett teaches the fundamentals: proper stance, sight picture, breath control, and trigger press. It's the rifle that has started more young shooters on the path to a lifetime of marksmanship.
