Daniel Defense has engineered a complete upper receiver that prioritizes both performance and practicality. This is a purpose-built system designed for shooters who understand that every ounce matters and reliability cannot be compromised.

Barrel and Gas System

The heart of this upper is a cold hammer forged 16" lightweight barrel with a 1:7 twist rate. This profile saves two ounces compared to standard V7 barrels without sacrificing strength or accuracy. The mid-length gas system ensures smooth, reliable cycling while reducing wear on your bolt carrier group and buffer system—a design choice that extends component life and improves overall durability.

The DD improved Flash Suppressor reduces muzzle flash signature, keeping your shooting position concealed and protecting your night vision if you're running optics.

Handguard and Accessory Mounting

The free-floating MFR 15.0 handguard is a lightweight, modular platform that offers superior cooling and ergonomics. Seven M-LOK attachment points provide flexible mounting for lights, lasers, and other tactical accessories. The uninterrupted 1913 Picatinny rail on top accommodates any standard optic or backup sight system you choose.

Charging Handle and Bolt Carrier Group

The new GRIP-N-RIP charging handle is independently ambidextrous, accommodating both left- and right-handed shooters with equal ease. It's engineered specifically for suppressed fire, with anti-gas features that redirect gas flow upward and away from your face—a critical consideration for serious shooters.
