Meprolight Flip-Up Iron Sights
These Meprolight sights represent a practical solution for shooters who demand reliable backup iron sights or a primary sighting system for modern rifles and carbines.
Key Features
- Front Sight: Green tritium element for low-light visibility and rapid target acquisition
- Rear Sight: Blank aperture design for unobstructed sight picture and faster sight transitions
- Flip-Up Design: Quick deployment mechanism allows rapid transition between primary optics and iron sights
- Low Profile: Designed to coexist with modern optical systems without excessive height
- Durable Construction: Built to withstand the demands of tactical and defensive shooting
Design Philosophy
The combination of a tritium-illuminated front sight with a clean rear aperture follows proven combat sighting principles. The front tritium element provides a glowing reference point in darkness, while the blank rear allows your eye to focus naturally on the target. This configuration has proven itself in professional and military applications.
Practical Applications
These sights work well as:
- Backup iron sights (BUIS) for rifles equipped with optics
- Primary sights for shooters preferring traditional iron sight shooting
- Emergency sighting system for tactical carbines
The flip-up mechanism ensures your sights remain protected during normal operation while remaining instantly accessible when needed.
