Why This Shotgun Works
The 20-gauge is an excellent choice for developing shooters. It delivers sufficient power for hunting small game and clay target sports while producing manageable recoil. The break-action design is inherently safe—the shooter can visually confirm the chamber status at all times.
The compact 18.5-inch barrel makes this shotgun easy to handle in brush and tight spaces, while the walnut furniture provides classic aesthetics and durability. The youth-scaled dimensions ensure proper gun fit, which is essential for accuracy, safety, and shooter confidence.
Whether your young shooter is pursuing upland game, learning clay target fundamentals, or developing fundamental shotgun skills, the Iver Johnson 700 provides a reliable, straightforward platform built on proven design principles.
