Mossberg Maverick 88 Security Top-Fold 12-Gauge
The Maverick 88 Security Top-Fold represents a practical approach to home defense and tactical shotgun needs. This pump-action 12-gauge delivers reliability in a compact, maneuverable package.
Key Features
- Barrel: 18.5" with cylinder bore choke for maximum shot spread
- Capacity: 5+1 rounds (magazine tube plus chamber)
- Action: Proven pump/slide action mechanism
- Stock: ATI Shotforce top-folding design for compact storage and transport
- Grip: Pistol grip configuration for tactical handling
- Sight: Bead front sight for quick target acquisition
- Gauge: 12-gauge, 3" chamber
Design Philosophy
The top-folding stock is the standout feature here. It collapses the shotgun's profile significantly, making it ideal for vehicle storage, home defense applications, or situations where space is at a premium. The folding mechanism is robust and reliable—no gimmicks.
The cylinder bore choke keeps pellet spread wide at defensive distances, and the 5+1 capacity provides adequate ammunition for most scenarios. The pump action is intuitive and requires no special training to operate safely and effectively.
Practical Applications
This shotgun excels as a home defense tool, truck gun, or training platform. The compact dimensions don't sacrifice shootability, and the straightforward controls make it accessible to shooters of all experience levels.
