Design and Construction

The ZAPM70 employs a bulged trunnion design, which strengthens the critical joint between barrel and receiver. This attention to structural integrity is characteristic of Zastava's manufacturing philosophy. The chrome-lined barrel resists fouling and corrosion, reducing maintenance requirements and extending barrel life—a practical consideration for shooters who value reliability.

The maple furniture with tiger stripe finish offers both durability and visual character. The light oil finish protects the wood while maintaining a natural appearance that improves with use.

Practical Considerations

This rifle is suitable for target shooting, hunting medium game, and general marksmanship practice. The 7.62x39 cartridge provides adequate power for these applications while remaining economical to shoot. The included 30-round magazine supports extended shooting sessions.
