Break-In Period
Glock magazines are engineered with tight tolerances for reliability. When new, they can be difficult to load fully, and the last round may not fit until the magazine has undergone a break-in period. This is normal and expected.
Recommended break-in procedure:
- Load the magazine with all but the last round
- Allow it to sit for several days so the spring can compress
- Cycle the magazine from full to empty multiple times to accelerate the break-in process
Once broken in, the magazine will function smoothly and reliably for years of service.
