Break-In Period
New Glock magazines may feel stiff when loading. This is normal and expected. The magazine spring requires a brief break-in period to function optimally.
Recommended break-in procedure:
- Load the magazine with 14 rounds (leave the 15th round out initially)
- Allow the magazine to sit for several days so the spring can compress and relax
- Cycle the magazine from full to empty multiple times during this period
- After break-in, the magazine will load and function smoothly
This break-in is a one-time process and is characteristic of Glock's robust spring design, which ensures long-term reliability and durability.
