Taurus 942 .22 LR Revolver 3" 8-Shot Matte Black

The Taurus 942: Precision and Reliability in a Compact Package

The Taurus 942 represents a thoughtful approach to revolver design. This 8-shot .22 LR is built for shooters who understand that mastery comes through practice, and practice is best accomplished with a firearm that doesn't punish you for shooting it.

Design and Handling

At just 25 ounces, the 942 is genuinely lightweight. The 3-inch barrel strikes a balance between pointability and sight radius. The overall length of 6.60 inches makes this revolver manageable in most holsters and shooting scenarios. The small frame fits naturally in the hand without excessive bulk.

Sights and Controls

The serrated ramp front sight provides a clear sight picture without glare. The drift-adjustable rear sight allows you to dial in your point of aim precisely. Both sights are fixed—no moving parts to complicate matters. The exposed hammer allows for single-action shooting when precision matters, while the double-action trigger provides a self-defense option when speed is required.

Reliability and Finish

The matte black finish is durable and resists glare. The black rubber grips provide secure purchase without slipping. The transfer bar safety ensures the revolver will not fire if dropped. This is a revolver built to work, not to impress.

Ideal Applications

The .22 LR cartridge is inherently low-recoil, making the 942 suitable for shooters of all experience levels. Use it for concealed carry where minimal recoil and capacity matter. Use it for training and skills development. Use it for recreational plinking. The 942 is a tool that performs its intended function without compromise.
