Remington 700 Alpha 1 Hunter: Modern Precision in a Classic Platform
The Remington 700 Alpha 1 Hunter represents a thoughtful evolution of America's most popular bolt-action rifle. Built on the proven 700 platform, this rifle combines time-tested reliability with contemporary features that appeal to hunters and shooters who demand accuracy and dependability.
Design and Construction
The Alpha 1 features a round receiver with a precision ground recoil lug—the foundation of any accurate rifle. The one-piece spiral fluted bolt body reduces weight while maintaining strength, and the changeable bolt handle allows customization to your preference. Tool-less firing pin disassembly simplifies maintenance in the field.
The sleek external bolt release on the left side of the receiver offers intuitive operation, while the 11-degree target crown ensures consistent bullet exit and accuracy. An aluminum Oberndorf style trigger guard provides durability without excess weight.
Trigger and Ergonomics
The 3 lb. Elite Hunter Timney straight trigger breaks cleanly and predictably—essential for precision shooting. The AG composite carbon fiber stock with Pachmayr recoil pad balances weight savings with comfort, while the 13 3/8" length of pull accommodates most shooters.
