Mossberg Patriot: American Rifle Excellence
The Mossberg Patriot represents everything a working rifle should be: accurate, reliable, and built without pretense. This 400 Legend model carries forward a tradition of honest engineering at a price that respects the shooter's wallet.
Design & Handling
The Patriot's classic profile looks at home in any hunting camp. The walnut furniture provides both aesthetic appeal and proven durability in the field. When shouldered, the rifle balances naturally and points instinctively—the mark of thoughtful design.
Technical Features
- Bolt Action: Spiral-fluted bolt with knurl pattern for smooth, reliable cycling
- Trigger: Patented LBA (Lightning Bolt Action) adjustable trigger for crisp, predictable breaks
- Barrel: 20-inch threaded barrel (11/16x24 threads) for suppressor compatibility
- Magazine: 4-round drop-box magazine for convenient field loading and unloading
- Receiver: Drilled and tapped for scope mounting; Weaver-style bases included
- Finish: Matte blued metal with fixed walnut stock
The 400 Legend Advantage
This straight-walled cartridge delivers genuine stopping power with up to 20% less recoil than comparable short-action calibers. The 400 Legend's unique ballistic profile provides deep penetration and excellent accuracy for medium-range game—deer, feral hog, and close-cover bear. Where regulations permit straight-walled cartridges for hunting, the 400 Legend proves itself a capable and efficient choice.
Why the Patriot
Mossberg built the Patriot for shooters who value substance over flash. No unnecessary complications. No inflated price tags. Just a rifle that works, shot after shot, season after season.
