Browning X-Bolt II Speed: Modern Hunting Rifle Excellence
The X-Bolt II Speed represents the evolution of a proven hunting platform, combining time-tested reliability with contemporary refinements that matter in the field.
Design and Ergonomics
The Vari-Tech composite stock features Browning OVIX camouflage and offers three distinct adjustments:
- Length of pull adjustment for proper fit
- Comb height adjustment for optimal cheek weld
- Grip angle adjustment for personal preference
This level of customization ensures the rifle fits your body mechanics, not the other way around. The 1-1/4" Inflex recoil pad manages recoil effectively while maintaining control.
Mechanical Advantages
The redesigned receiver and bolt represent genuine improvements in function and reliability. The 60-degree bolt lift allows rapid cycling—a practical advantage when seconds matter. The short throw means less movement required between shots, keeping your sight picture intact.
Barrel and Accuracy
The threaded, fluted sporter-weight barrel serves dual purposes: the fluting reduces weight without sacrificing rigidity, while the threads accommodate a suppressor or muzzle brake. The radial muzzle brake reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise, helping you stay on target. Cerakote finish provides superior corrosion resistance in demanding hunting conditions.
Optics and Control
The X-Lock scope mounting system provides secure, repeatable attachment for your optics. The DLX trigger delivers the crisp, predictable break serious hunters demand. Safety features include a top-tang safety and bolt unlock button for intuitive operation.
The Bottom Line
This is a rifle built for hunters who understand that precision, reliability, and fit matter. The X-Bolt II Speed delivers all three.
