Why the Taurus 850 Works

The .38 Special remains one of the most effective self-defense cartridges ever developed. Its manageable recoil, proven stopping power, and widespread ammunition availability make it an excellent choice for defensive use. The Taurus 850's double-action-only trigger eliminates the need to manage a safety lever, allowing you to focus entirely on sight picture and trigger control in a critical moment.

The fully shrouded hammer prevents snagging on clothing during the draw—a practical advantage for concealed carry. The fixed sights are robust and require no adjustment; they simply work. The rubber grip absorbs recoil and provides a secure purchase even when your hands are wet or cold.

A Proven Design

This is not a revolutionary firearm. It is instead a refinement of a design that has protected lives for generations. In an era of tactical complexity, the Taurus 850 reminds us that sometimes the simplest solution is the best one.
