Hornady Custom Lite .243 Win 87gr SST 20/Box

Hornady Custom Lite .243 Winchester

Hornady Custom Lite ammunition represents a thoughtful approach to rifle shooting—delivering the performance you need with the recoil you can manage.

Design Philosophy

Custom Lite loads combine lighter bullets with fast-burning powders to achieve significant recoil reduction compared to standard loads. This isn't a compromise on power; it's intelligent engineering. The result is ammunition that shoots flatter, kicks less, and still delivers the accuracy and lethality serious hunters demand.

Ballistics & Performance

• Caliber: .243 Winchester
• Bullet Weight: 87 grains
• Bullet Type: Super Shock Tip (SST)
• Muzzle Velocity: 2800 feet per second
• Muzzle Energy: 1514 foot-pounds
• Trajectory: Modified for flatter shooting

Why Custom Lite Matters

The 87-grain SST bullet is purpose-built for medium game. Its aerodynamic design minimizes wind drift, while the Super Shock Tip ensures reliable expansion on impact. The reduced recoil makes follow-up shots faster and more accurate—a genuine advantage in the field.

Whether you're introducing a new shooter to centerfire rifles or simply prefer less punishment at the shoulder, Custom Lite delivers Hornady's legendary quality without the unnecessary kick.
