Dan Wesson DWX Compact: Precision Meets Practicality
The DWX Compact represents a thoughtful collaboration between two respected firearms manufacturers, merging Dan Wesson's legendary build quality with the proven ergonomic design of the CZ 75 Compact platform. The result is a modern 9mm pistol that excels in both concealed carry and competitive shooting applications.
Design and Construction
This compact handgun weighs just 30.8 ounces, making it genuinely concealable without sacrificing shootability. The aluminum frame provides a solid foundation while keeping overall weight manageable. The DLC-coated slide resists wear and corrosion, ensuring reliable performance through years of use.
Ergonomics and Handling
Key features include:
- Henning aluminum grips designed for a slim profile and confident control
- Double-stack magazine body with 10+1 capacity
- Aluminum base pads for durability and smooth reloads
- Locked-breech barrel system with simple slide-stop takedown
- Tritium front sight and fixed Battlehook rear sight for low-light target acquisition
Performance and Customization
The 4-inch match-grade barrel delivers accuracy expected from a quality defensive or competition pistol. The innovative bushing-less barrel system allows easy removal for maintenance and customization. Because the DWX accepts standard 1911 parts, gunsmiths and competitive shooters can tailor the pistol to their specific preferences and requirements.
